The purpose of this section is to expose unknown contaminants in foods, as well as other products, and help ethical and healthy consumers find safe, vegan, or healthy alternatives.
  • Alcohol
    The majority of alcohol, like the majority of sugar, is vegetarian. However, alcohol is exempt from the same FDA labeling requirements as food. Apparently the FDA thinks that we don't ingest alcohol, but rather use it as an accessory. (Okay, to be fair, I make a great air freshener by mixing vodka, peppermint oil and eucalyptus oil in a spritzer bottle, but I'm pretty confident that's the exception, not the rule.) Even wine labeled...
